Responsibilities

Maintenance Management

  • Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs for all plant equipment.
  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime and reliability for production operations.
  • Monitor and improve key maintenance KPIs such as equipment availability, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance costs.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical equipment failures.
  • Establish and maintain maintenance planning and scheduling systems.

Mechanical Asset Integrity

  • Manage the integrity and reliability of static and rotating equipment, including:
    • Pumps
    • Compressors
    • Blowers
    • Heat exchangers
    • Reactors
    • Columns and pressure vessels
    • Storage tanks
    • Piping systems
    • Utility equipment
  • Ensure compliance with inspection and testing requirements for pressure equipment and piping systems.
  • Develop equipment lifecycle management and replacement strategies.

Shutdown and Turnaround Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance activities.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, manpower, and contractor performance during shutdowns.
  • Ensure safe and timely completion of all turnaround activities.

Project Engineering

  • Lead mechanical aspects of plant expansion, debottlenecking, and modernization projects.
  • Review engineering designs, technical specifications, and vendor proposals.
  • Coordinate installation, commissioning, and startup of new equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and best practices.

Safety, Health, and Environment

  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the maintenance organization.
  • Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Participate in HAZOP, risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Drive initiatives to eliminate unsafe conditions and reduce incidents.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop maintenance engineers, supervisors, planners, and technicians.
  • Identify training needs and develop competency improvement programs.
  • Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Budget and Cost Control

  • Prepare and manage annual maintenance and capital expenditure budgets.
  • Optimize maintenance costs while maintaining equipment reliability.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and procurement strategies.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate service contracts.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, SOPs, equipment histories, and technical documentation.
  • Support ISO, environmental, and safety management systems.

Skills

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Engineering or MBA is preferred.

Experience

  • 15–20 years of experience in maintenance and reliability within chemical, petrochemical, specialty chemical, fertilizer, refinery, or process industries.
  • Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role managing plant-wide mechanical maintenance.
  • Experience handling large shutdowns, reliability programs, and capital projects.

Technical Competencies

  • Rotating equipment maintenance and reliability.
  • Static equipment inspection and integrity management.
  • Predictive maintenance techniques (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • SAP PM, CMMS, or equivalent maintenance management systems.
  • Mechanical design and engineering standards.
  • Utility systems management.
  • Project management and contractor management.

Compensation

  • Salary Range: ₹15 Lakhs Per Annum (CTC)
  • Additional benefits and incentives will be offered as per company policy and candidate experience.
